Being the first Korean movie I've watched in my time, Seondal The Man who Sold the River had a lot to live up to. I had high expectations, told by my friends that Korean movies had a certain charm to them within their storytelling. Of course, being a fan of EXO, I decided to start with Seondal, with the guest star of Kim Minseok Xiumin, who played Gyeon. From the start of Seondal, I found myself hypnotised. The storyline played out beautifully, fully capturing your attention from the start. With a harrowing beginning of war and loss, it's hard not to feel for the characters at the start. The first thing I noticed was Seungho Yoo, playing the main character… So this is how conning was done back in the Joseon era. This can also be entitled as "Kim's 4", "The Joseon Job", and "Palace Heist". Seung Ho's acting chops though. A certain scene broke my heart because of his performance. Also, no hate for Xiumin in fact he did really well or anything but why the heck are these EXO members getting all these roles? SM better give chance to the legit actors under their wing. Just saying. I seriously need more of Movie Actor Kim Minseok!!! That scene of him is definitely one of the highlights of this film. oh man... i watched this years ago for minseok, and he definitely didn’t disappoint. sweet little historical comedy that also made me cry lmao Hilarious yet hearty period-dramedy. Definitely a must-watch, so I shan't spoil it with any further description. Best thing about this show is that you don't even need to leave your noggin at the door. Somehow the stakes felt super high and Seondal was just trying to sell a river? This con was so ridiculous I couldn’t believe I was as invested in this story as I was. Low-key liked it. Definitely an interesting one.
